Prime Minister to Inaugurate Digital Classroom at Lycée Général Leclerc to Boost AI-Driven Education

Cameroon is set to take another important step toward digital transformation in education as the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, prepares to inaugurate a state-of-the-art digital classroom at Lycée Général Leclerc de Yaoundé on March 3.

The innovative learning facility is a donation from the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), aimed at supporting Cameroon’s efforts to advance digital education and provide high-quality learning opportunities for students across the country.

Education stakeholders say the initiative represents a significant milestone in the modernization of Cameroon’s school system. By introducing advanced digital learning tools, the project seeks to enhance teaching methods, improve student engagement, and strengthen digital literacy among learners.

One of the project’s partners, Simon Leung, emphasized the role emerging technologies can play in shaping the future of education in Cameroon. According to him, the country has strong potential to harness the power of NetDragon Websoft Holdings Limited’s digital expertise and artificial intelligence solutions to accelerate innovation in the classroom.

Speaking to CRTV Web shortly after participating in discussions on digital education at FEICOM, Simon Leung noted that Artificial Intelligence can help personalize learning experiences, support teachers, and improve educational outcomes for students.

Experts believe that AI-powered educational tools can transform the learning environment by providing real-time feedback, adaptive lessons, and interactive resources that respond to the individual needs of students. Such innovations could play a critical role in preparing Cameroonian learners for the demands of the digital economy.

The upcoming inauguration ceremony is expected to bring together government officials, education stakeholders, international partners, and students. The event highlights Cameroon’s growing collaboration with global institutions and technology companies in promoting digital transformation in the education sector.

As the country continues to explore innovative ways to strengthen its education system, initiatives like the digital classroom at Lycée Général Leclerc signal a promising future where technology, artificial intelligence, and modern teaching methods combine to deliver more effective and inclusive learning experiences for students nationwide.
