SPEECH OF MINESEC ON THE INAUGURATION OF THE INTELLIGENT CLASSROOM – YAOUNDE – LGL 2026

Cameroon has taken another significant step toward modernizing its education system with the inauguration of an Intelligent Classroom at Lycée Général Leclerc de Yaoundé. During the ceremony, the Minister of Secondary Education, Nalova Lyonga, delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the importance of digital innovation in shaping the future of learning in the country.

Speaking before government officials, education stakeholders, teachers, and students, Minister Nalova Lyonga highlighted the government’s commitment to integrating technology into classrooms to improve teaching methods and learning outcomes. She explained that the Intelligent Classroom initiative represents a major milestone in Cameroon’s ongoing efforts to modernize its education sector.

According to the minister, the project aims to provide students with access to advanced digital learning tools that will make lessons more interactive, engaging, and effective. By combining modern technology with traditional teaching methods, the initiative is expected to help students better understand complex concepts while also strengthening their digital skills.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, who represented the Head of State at the event. The presence of government authorities underscored the national importance of the project and its role in advancing Cameroon’s digital transformation agenda.

Minister Nalova Lyonga also emphasized that the Intelligent Classroom initiative is part of a broader educational reform strategy aimed at preparing young Cameroonians for the demands of the modern world. She noted that digital literacy and technological competence are increasingly essential skills in the global economy.

One of the key features of the Intelligent Classroom concept is its adaptability. The system is designed to function even in areas with limited infrastructure, meaning it can operate with minimal internet connectivity or electricity. This flexibility makes it possible to extend the technology to schools in rural and underserved communities across the country.

Education experts believe that initiatives like this could help bridge the technological gap between urban and rural schools while improving access to quality education. By introducing innovative learning environments, the government hopes to nurture a new generation of students equipped with the knowledge and skills required for the digital age.
